XML and XHTML?

Thank author of this post/commentWhat's the difference between XML and XHTML? I know a little about XHTML but nothing about XML.

Thank author of this post/commentLinked standards and multifunctionality in cross border platforms. XHTML will often function where XML will not depending on the sophistication of the www standards that the viewer and browser has put into their machine and browsing programs.

Thank author of this post/commentYou'll want to make sure you know the answer to that in the upcoming months as mobile devices are becoming more and more important. Basically XHTML is a stricer version of HTML which enforces some specific guidelines that are relaxed in standard HTML. Using XHTML results in sites that work better across different browsers and platforms.

Thank author of this post/commentI thought that XHTML didn't work in Mozilla Firefox, or maybe it was that it didn't work on IE... I heard that it didn't work on one of those two browsers.

Thank author of this post/commentNot sure where you heard that, but XHTML is the most positive step towards cross-browser compliance. If you conform to XHTML then your site will work even better in both IE and Firefox.

If your pages are not XHTML compliant, you'll often run the risk of having unclosed tags and non well-formed documents and your documents will often not show up well in one (if not both) of these browsers.

Thank author of this post/commentI am so confused about all this stuff!! I definitely see a big difference in my site between IE and firefox. I like Firefox a lot better too. Why is there such a difference between the two when viewing sites?
