Thank author of this post/commentAnybody have experience with hosting companies that can handle DNN sites reliably? I find that many hosting companies offer DNN hosting and yet are pretty short on knowhow when it comes to setup and support. I am talking of a site with 50+ child portals.

Thank author of this post/commentI've tried using a variety of hosting companies such as webhost4life and aspnix and portalwebhosting and none of them could handle the task of a DNN site with decent traffic. I think you have to bite the bullet and opt for a dedicatd server (or 2 if you app is substantial so you can split the DB server and web server). Good luck!

Thank author of this post/commentI like to start off on a smaller scale. It's great to have a dedicated server if you can afford it, but having a shared server can be a great solution too. I'm not sure I would start recommending a dedicated server to quartz.

Thank author of this post/commentThanks for that input. With 50+ child portals we are having to think along the lines of a dedicated server unfortunately, but it seems that the important issue is really splitting off the DB server which is where all the heavy load is going to be.

Thank author of this post/commentThere are some pretty big names out there. Do a search for dedicated hosting and read some reviews, but make sure that at the end of the day you are getting sufficient value for the price. You really need to be sure that you need full dedicated hosting, but if you do you should go for it.
