It's getting bad

Thank author of this post/commentI have had a huge problem with spam lately.

I get the feeling that some of the sites i buy products from merch out their mailing lists and emai lists.

What can you do?

Thank author of this post/commentMake an email specially for each merchant so you can see. I did some directory submissions and one or more of them has been passing out the email.

Next time will have to use a unique email per directory to see who the bad ones are.

Thank author of this post/commentI absolutely hate it. Ruins a piece of each and every day of my life. I hate to sound depressing, but it's absolutely horrible. I have used www.mailinator.com in the past and it's pretty good if you don't need a permanent address with them and it's not super private or secure stuff.

Lately I have been getting spam e-mails with stock tips. They are so pathetic and I wonder just how many people really go for it. I guess if they are sending out that many junk e-mails then even if it's only a small percentage that bite, it's still worth their while.

Thank author of this post/commentWell, I personally detest spam mail. I find that they are finding ways around the various e-mail sites by either not putting a topic, which is one way to keep them out of the main stream and being sent straight to spam or using obscure subjects that make no sense at all. For example I must get in my main mailbox 7-8 a day which have subjects such as: You get what indexes are for. When I go in the "backdoor" to check what it is about it always seems to be "Viagra" so I just delete them without opening them. I would have thought by now that by backdooring them it would slow down.

So I have now opened some obscure e-mail accounts that are not basically used for anything important whenever I go to a new site that I don't know and then they can spam all they want because it all gets deleted without my even having to back door them. Makes it easier all around.

Thank author of this post/commentI don't like spam, but I don't mind it too much. I remember when gmail used to catch EVERYTHING, but now so much gets through. Every now and then I'll go into all my spam and press the "Don't email me" button, and it dies down temporarily.

Thank author of this post/commentI am getting so much spam in my inbox that it is becoming a problem for me. But, the worst thing is when emails I need end up in my Spam box so I have to look through my spam box for messages I need. I have tried adding the addresses the messages come from, but the emails slip through sometimes.

Thank author of this post/commentI have had to cancel email and domain accounts because whoever got the email address just multiplied it times a thousand to all the wrong people. I have one account I can't even go into anymore because it impossible to answer the spam tide in the inbox.

I can't beleive anybody even hires that company anymore because their webmail function has NO spam blocking. How is that even competitive today?

Thank author of this post/commentFor a small time spam was a problem for me, but guys, if you just click the "Don't email me anymore" link, which most spam emails have, it is drastically reduced. Also, if you have gmail, make a filter that filters out spam email. I was getting so much spam email about razrs, I mean, A LOT, so I set up a filter that put any email with the word razr into the trash, and it helped a lot.
