Do all email accounts have this

Thank author of this post/commentI have noticed my hotmail account has a button you can hit when the email is open that you can hit either spam or not spam. Does anyone use this and do all email places have this? I have not noticed it on my Yahoo account.

Thank author of this post/commentGmail has a "Report Spam" button. If you click it when the mail it open, it automatically deletes it. I think it's a nice feature. I don't know how many other email services are offering something like this, but I think they all should.

Thank author of this post/commentThere are many sites which have this feature. It usually pops up after you have opened the mail. There are also sites which have very strict ruling on what they consider to be span. I know that Yahoo has a very tight spam structure and almost everything I receive in the regular mail is not spam. There is the odd exception but very little. I may receive 20 e-mails and 850 spam messages all in the same day. All I do is empty the spam folder which takes 2 seconds and it is all gone. Also their spam file does not count towards your total e-mail account.

Also Sympatico has the "this is spam" button and you can set rules or set domain names or sender names up to be rejected and directed straight to the spam or trash folders. This is also another way of preventing spam in your regular e-mail.

Thank author of this post/commentThe report spam button on gmail does nothing except puts mail in the spam folder instead of the trash.

Really? I thought "report" meant that notification was sent through the system that this was spam mail. I figured the option was in place to keep it from happening again. If all it does is send the email to the spam foler instead of the trash, then it's pretty much worthless.

Thank author of this post/commentYahoo used to be better about getting rid of spam. of course, when people who are spammers do it for a living they think up new ways to get spam in. Like using the new domain names other people are trying to promote as aliases.

So when that person tries to email a campaign, the bulk mail folders are already associating it with spam.

Yahoo has gotten much much worse. Their site has spelling errors, techncal glitches. Too many ads. I am shocked.

Thank author of this post/commentYahoo sucks, Google rocks. And spammers do lots of things so they're spam gets through, although I think that gmail does have the best spam blocker.

Thank author of this post/commentI use gmail, hotmail, and yahoo. Personally I gmail has done a better job for me keeping spam out. I have an email with my internet provider and spam blocking never seemed to occur to them. I hardly ever use that email anymore because of that.

Thank author of this post/commentThat's really strange because I find that Yahoo does the best job and yes on the "new" version of Yahoo mail they have a Spam button right at the top beside the delete button where you can highlight the spam mail and just hit that button and it goes to the spam folder and then you empty it.

For every 20-30 e-mails I get on Yahoo the spam folder shows about 1, 000 spam mails that never got to the main screen.

I like yahoo.

Also my Sympatico Outlook Express e-mail also has a place where you can add the e-mail address for it not to be allowed to download to the computer cause outlook downloads.

The only ones it misses usually are the new spammers that have no send from or subject showing or the crazy send from Jane Doe and subject matter isn't it tragic. These sometimes sneak through.
