| Where'd Jeeves go? Why'd they take Jeeves out of Ask.com? He was the only thing keeping that search engine alive, and when they removed him, traffic died and they had to start doing TV ads to revive it. Now whether the disatisfaction came from the site or from Jeeves that's hard to say. If you can track down Jeeves then the best thing is to talk to him personally and see if he is interested in revising "Jeeves" and if so would he be willing to do it from your site. But just remember there are always two sides to every story and the one you get from him might not be the truth and the whole truth so help me God.... if you know what I mean. People have a tendency to make the curve go in their favour. Be careful what you wish/ask for cause you just might get it and if you don't like it then what will you do. Have a site that goes through the same withdrawal of hits and have to find another way to rebuild. |

| Yes I am but there was obviously someone in charge of manipulating and looking after the process. Perhaps the person responsible for devising Jeeves had problems with the owners of the site and removed himself and Jeeves in the process. If it was a patented/registered logo of that person they would have the right to forbid it's use on the site. |
| Ask.com is still there. Jeeves wasn't needed from a marketing perspective. Maybe that is why they removed the jeeves part. I bet it helped business. The easier domain, the more business. We had to change one of our domain names because people had trouble spelling it. |
| ask.com is such an easy domain to remember. Simpler is better. But if you type in www.askjeeves.com it still takes you to the same place. |
| Well that certainly sounds reasonable. If you become well known by using a come-on so to speak and then you find that the come-on is not needed anymore then it's just one less thing to take care of. Also if you found the name too long then for sure it needs to be changed. |
