Google page ranks What is the real value of a high google page rank other than being able to tout one's website as a good bet for potential advertisers. Is the ranking widely looked at I wonder?
One pretty important one is that if you have a high Google page rank it will be a big advantage when trying to attract advertisers to your website. The first thing anyone wants to know is the amount of traffic you are getting to your site, and a page rank of over 5 could be a great seller.
Another obvious advantage is many people have toolbars installed that automatically display the Google page rank of the site being viewed and this is a very big plus when the ranking is up there.
Does anyone really pay attention to the toolbar in deciding to visit a website? The real value of the page rank is in your mind. While you chase page rank.. others will be receiving significant quantities of traffic regardless of their page rank.
There is value in PR even though many will disagree.Google PR does impact rankings, although not as much as it used to. You notice its impact more in highly competitive search phrases. That being said, a high homepage PR will filter throughout your site and will impact rankings on other terms as well. Plus PR also does impact your sites crawlability. That means a site will lower PR will usually have less pages indexed and gets visited less often by crawlers (I have insider information on this - trust me). That means sites with higher PR are considered more important and are trusted more by Google, therefore more pages get crawled more often and likely get indexed more quickly allowing them to rank faster than a lower PR site.
You can go back to the who came first, the chicken or the egg.You can build a site for PR... or you can build a quality site. Building the quality site will inherently bring you success, and probably good "PR". Building a site for PR might bring you only PR. I know some sites that have pretty good PR (ie: 5) yet don't have success in terms of sufficient visitors to bring much revenue and know of other sites with less PR.. ie: 2, 3 or 4 that have plenty of visitors.
Yes, you right Nancy.Look at this website - dynapile.com It's PR 3, but will get the top rank in search engine, using "pile testing" keyword.
