I wouldn't use an SEO service

Thank author of this post/commentMost SEO services are overpriced and charge a lot for what you could do yourself with a little hard work. I'll admit, I've thought of turning to them, but I won't. I'm doing fine myself.

Thank author of this post/comment, Graphics: My name in Glowing SteelI remember someone else here saying they pay someoen to do all their graphics works... It might be a good idea to the same for SEO.

If you do everything yourself, you'll work 24 hrs a day.

The question is how to find someone that does SEO work effectively for a competitive price.

Thank author of this post/commentThe problem is the same coming and going: How are you going to pay for metrics and how efficient are those returns in terms of conversions to ad sales and penetration clicks?

Anywhere You Want
Thank author of this post/commentIf you are enjoying doing it yourself instead of paying someone then working 24 hours a day to do it is not a chore. However, if it becomes a chore you might not complete the project in the way that you actually want it and that would defeat the whole purpose.

My suggestion is to google different companies and check out their price lists or post on a "looking for" forum and see if their are people right in your own neighbourhood who have the qualifications and ability but do it as a sideline.

Thank author of this post/commentYou should pay someone to do something that you can't, but everyone can do SEO, as long as you do some basic reading.

Thank author of this post/commentI think it just depends on how much effort you want to put into it. If you are going to have someone else do it, do your research. It can be very expensive, but some places will do a really great job and others don't do as well. If you don't mind the hard work and hours go for it. Me, I don't have the time or experience so I will spend the money where it is needed.

Thank author of this post/commentI agree with Billy. You can't do everything. It's also often a matter of jack of all trades; master of none. So if you hire the right service at a reasonable price then I see no harm in paying for a good SEO service. Also, you never know until you try it. Your site(s) may do much better if you do use the right service. It's easy to dismiss it, but there are plenty of very successful sites that swear by it.

Thank author of this post/comment, Graphics: My name in Glowing SteelIf you have your own ideas about SEO.. you might hire out the work to someone who will follow your instructions, rather than a "SEO Service".

Thank author of this post/commentThere are people who know a lot about SEO, have good tools, and have the connections to make a site big in the search engines. Not everybody has that, and that's why I think SEO services can work out. I've heard of people getting to the top with the help of an SEO service.

Thank author of this post/comment"I wouldn't use an SEO service"

Then do not use.

The value of a professional SEO service is priceless.. Yes if you have #1-5 spot on Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc with the most competitive search term in your industry.. You imagine the benefit you will get.

There is one Google, One Yahoo, , and you got the top spot..

We have been working with a couple of our SEO clients for 3+ years.

Thanks

Thank author of this post/commentHow to choose a professional SEO Company?

1- Check their (SEO Companies') sample rankings with competitive search terms..use inventory.overture.com to see if their search terms are really competitive.. Bunch of SEO companies shows ranking with tricky search terms nobody use...

2- Call their top ranking clients to verify if they are real, and ask about the benefits they are getting from SEO services..

3- Find out how long they have been doing SEO...

To find a good SEO Company...

Let me tell you how one of our clients found us.

He is a real estate broker in a city here in South Florida. He wants to work with an SEO Company who does not already serve to his competitors..That is why he used yahoo search by using another big city name which has more competition "Miami Real Estate"

and found out who handles their SEO work..and contacted that company (us). He knows we can even do better work for him.

btw same client of ours is #2 on Google #1 on Yahoo.. I will be more than happy to show you our clients' rankings..

Thanks

Troy
