Article WritingMarketing Strategies - Marketing Strategies
Article Writing A great way to make money from a site is write articles related to your field and submit them to article directory sites. People look at the articles, go to your site, and you might make some sales. Also, it's good for SEO.
That's a really good suggestion. It's not always easy to find the time though and that does pose problems, but in general you have to try and do it. I also find that it's best to differentiate yourself from the crowd with the content. If you submit articles that stand out and don't follow the standard crowd then your odds of clickthroughs are that much greater.
Another way is to post something of general interest that will draw the people to take a look and usually while they are they they will browse the site. At this point when they start browsing you want to have the most interesting products pop in first with description and prices which will keep their interest. Many stores use what they call "Loss Leaders". These are items (which I'm sure you have seen) that are wayyyyyyy below the normal price and that gets them in the store. They then tend to buy other items of interest at the same time rather than going from store to store if these items are fairly priced. The same can be done on many sites with items to sell. The "Loss Leader" has been around for many years and is a proven marketing strategy. Interlink this type of strategy on your site and you will bring in the crowds. One person sees it and tells another who possibly tells two more and so on and so on and so it grows.
Good for whose SEO?Why would you furnish SEO capable material to a third party?
If you have a forum about X and write a bunch of articles about X with links back to your site... the more the articles get published, the more links back to your site you get.The key is: 1) Articles about your topic (ON TOPIC). 2) Lots of articles 3) Lots of distribution (with your link intact).
What do article writers get paid? Is it per article or is it per hour? I have sold a few articles that I didn't want to a site for 10.00 each. How much do really good articles go for and does every article you submit get paid for or do some get turned down?
I once bought something from a link in an article I read; it was about stun guns and I liked the article so I bought one from the writer of the article. Those articles work!
I think the discussion here is more focused on writing articles in order to promote your own site as opposed to getting paid for doing it. It is a fantastic way to promote your site, but it does take time. A good article will get noticed and may even get e-mailed around to others. I wish I could find a list of good article directories online to submit to.
I know some people who have had their articles published through Associated Content. I think that the pay varies though. You might want to check it out if you have writing experience. Why not get paid for it?
