Gateway pages How strict are the search engines in relegating gateway pages to the junkheap? I mean if one has a page with some reasonable text content linking to a number of articles on topic and then linking to another site one is trying to promote, is this asking for trouble from google?

The issue is when you either have a ton of links on a single page or you have lots of one-page sites linking in to a single domain. That's where you have to be careful because you can actually get banned from Google.
