| Article: Your Web Application's Data Access Layer In contemporary servlet development, there is what we call layering when it comes to developing the applications. This means that we divide the project into different code layers depending on the functionality that the code brings to the project. The three basic layers are, namely, the data access layer, the service layer, and the presentation layer.
