What is Perl

Thank author of this post/commentI am not familiar with Perl. I would like some more information on what this is please. Is it more popular than other web programming software? And, I have heard they are about to have the newest version out that is almost perfect.

If you have linux or freebsd it should already be installed. If you have windows... follow the links from that site to download the windows version.

try this for a simple test program;

$x=time;

$a=localtime($time);

$b=localtime($time+3600);

print "$a $b";

That should print the current time and the current time plus 1 hour.
