Yahoo! Answers: How can we get the webmaster of Cruel.com to go back to the old

Thank author of this post/commentI've been a regular at Cruel.com for years. It was a great site for finding amusing (and cruel) links every day back when it was called "Cruel Site of the Day". It had a vibrant, easy to use message board that regulars could interact on. In the past year the webmaster switched to more of a blog format, completely re-designed the site and removed the most important features from the forums. You can't even reference the post you are replying to let alone edit a post once submitted. The web master said he made the changes to improve advertising revenue but has admitted this has not come about. We have all begged him to admit his new design sucks and to restore the lost functionality. Yet he turns a deaf ear to us. Suggestions have floated about ranging from contributing to the webmaster's beer fund to getting him hookers. What can we do to convince the web master to bring Cruel.com back to its former glory? Is there any hope for this once great "Bitter Aftertaste of the Web"?

Thank author of this post/comment"Do something better!"

Obviously the webmaster of a site can do whatever he/she likes... if you don't like it... make a better version of what whatever they had before!

Blogging is definitely in so the webmaster decided to switch the website platform. Too bad if it did not improve the site's user interface and site functionality at all. Jimmy is right, better make your version of the website you like.

Well webmaster has all the abilities to improve a certain website simply because they want to get higher advertising revenue by making the website platform more attractive and adding more features and applications.

Well there is a great possibility for webmasters to upgrade their websites but never to restore old functionalities perhaps. So if I were you, just adjust in using the website. You will be used to it before long.

I agree that if you don't like it, develop your own site that offered what you liked about Cruel.com in the first place. Since the webmaster won't change back then do it yourself. I can understand why he / she might have thought that adding a blog section would drive user generated content thereby increasing unique visitors that would lead to more advertising, but if many people like you are complaining about the changes made, then make your own site and take all the traffic Cruel.com lost.

It appears that it's the webmaster of your favorite site that has become cruel. Maybe it's best to look for another site where you can find those links that you need without stressing yourself out. After all, don't you spend lots of time on the internet to relax and make yourself happy? If you're not happy with this site that you frequent, then it's time for you to move on.
