Why so few blogs?

Thank author of this post/commentThere seem to be a lot of people here that don't have a blog?

Why not?

Thank author of this post/commentI have many different blog sites. Some of them are prepsportshq.com, lotrblog.com, pagewriters.com, to name a few. But I am geting paifd for a lot of online projects right now and don't have time to be a good webmin. Also soe of them need shaping up before marketing. You can have too many web sites.

Thank author of this post/commentI kind of have a blog, but technically it's not. I've always kind of disliked blogs for some reason, at least, the personal ones. People who do it all for the money I like.

Thank author of this post/commentI don't have a blog just becaue I never really took the time to look into it. But after reading so much about it here, I just may start one myself if I can figure out where to start.

Thank author of this post/commentBlogs are good for statements and commentary when you want a select group to join the debate. It's good when you want a narrow topic but not the work of an entire forum. One problem I hate about blogs is that when you find a new one they demand you register. I have about 300 usernames and passwords. I don't need anymore.

Thank author of this post/commentBlogs were never really more than personal statements or journals. Just because someone posts their thoughts doesn't mean there is a market to read them. Most people don't generate content that is intersting.

A girl from my high school has one and all it has are her pictures of her and her boyfriend, her rants about work, and her descriptions of her vacations. Who cares?

Thank author of this post/commentIt's true that many blogs are nothing more than a personal journal/diary, but there are so many amazing ones out there too. There are bloggers that are making a lot of money from their traffic and it's because they are providing useful and informative content that is of value to others. I don't think it's worthwhile for everybody to start up a blog, but if you have something really interesting or useful to share then go for it. You never know, it could become really popular.

Thank author of this post/commentI am not sure about useful and informative but I can say that gossip or entertainment blogs definitely get traffic. But even the big ones fall back and lag on new content. The Superficial.com and Defamer.com have been taking it easy. I like TMZ.com. They usually have a lot of new stuff up.

Thank author of this post/commentOne of my favorite blogs is techcrunch.com (see the link). It's updated daily (often several times per day) and contains useful and interesting content. The author makes a fortune from it so I guess he has every incentive to keep it fresh :)

Thank author of this post/commentI don't have a blog, but I really don't have a need right now to have one. I think they are great if you need one. I have thought about finding a blog site that pays to blog though. At least that way I will be making a little money. :)

Thank author of this post/commentI started doing a blog but then realized how much time every day that it would take to put in my thoughts and then I realized that only a handful of people would be interested in my thoughts anyway so I stopped it.

The successful blogs are put out by the Rich and the Famous, such as poker pros, Lou Krieger I know has a very interesting blog but it revolveds around poker so anyone interested in poker will go there.

I do not see how a blog for sales would present the right venue for sales.

That's just my humble opinion.

Thank author of this post/commentSome people don't have a blog because they don't know what to blog about, don't know how to blog, don't want a WordPress or BlogSpot blog, etc., etc. On a different note, have you noticed how when people are listing things, they stop when they've run out of items and just put etc., implying that there's more when they're not sure if there is. I do that a lot.

Thank author of this post/commentSome people have personal blogs and other are trying to make a profit off of it. It kind of depends on what you are using it for. A lot of people may start one but not that many keep it up on a weekly basis.

Thank author of this post/commentI have a blog as it is a way for me to express my feelings, and have family (who is scattered all over) be able to "catch up" with what's going on with ours.
