Pinging Service? Which service do you use? I always use Pingomatic. I have read that that is the number one service to use.

If you're using one on one of your machines which is always running then you should look into smarterping. It's very good. I haven't had a need for anything else, but I'll take a look at pingomatic to see what it's like. Thanks.

Why would you need a pinging service? Can you explain to me a little bit about what these services actually do as it sounds interesting.

i think that Kara wanted to say about blog pinging, not website refresh page... Smarterping it's a windows app. For blog pinging i'm using pingoat:) it's great, really. and also i have set in my blog, for each posting, to ping several servers, to announce my new post. My own blog
