New Business

Thank author of this post/commentI am thinking about starting an online business. I would like to be able to spend more time at home with my daughter, but not struggle to pay bills. I currently just sell stuff on ebay. But, I am thinking about starting my own business. What is the cheapest and best way to advertise?

Thank author of this post/commentIf you selling something through your web business, you can always put something on your ebay auction and link them to your website. I see a lot of people doing that. And, there's always adsense, but I don't know how much it costs to place an ad there.

Thank author of this post/commentYep putting a link in your e-bay ads would be good. If you look at a couple of the posts I've done on here I have put in a few suggestions for advertising online and offline. You might be able to use one of those suggestions.

But of course word of mouth is always the best.

Thank author of this post/commentA lot of it is going to depend on what you are selling. If you having success selling on ebay see about opening an ebay store. Like kcmo said link from your ebay page to your website. I would definitely start out small to minimize costs.

Thank author of this post/commentIf you are already doing e-Bay isn't that a business in itself? I have never done anything major with e-bay but I do know people who do fantastic at it and treat it as a business.

If you are already there isn't it better to expand the e-bay business by adding items to what you are already selling rather than starting up something new and going through the growing pains?

Thank author of this post/commentI sell stuff on ebay, but definately not enough to call it a business yet. I am going to start pouring candles the weekend after Thanksgiving and I am starting a line of printed onsies as well. I will probably get the website up and running towards the middle to end of January. I think I will just start by advertising the free way and then see where the business leads me.

Thank author of this post/commentCandles and printed onsies both sound like potentially great sellers on ebay. If you set up a business site, maybe you could either change your ebay name to your business name, or get a new account for your business. List one or two of each of your creations there and link them back to your business site to see more examples. Good luck to you.

Thank author of this post/commentFrom what you have mentioned you have a great product line. I would definitely try to sell those on ebay. Since you probably have a good rating as a reliable seller more buyers will feel comfortable with you.
