| Marketing a new forum What are some of the best ways to promote and market new forums? I'm looking for different views and exerperiences in this matter and would appreciate some input. |
| I am wondering the same thing. I would figure that advertising on other forums may be a good idea. I know people of many particular industries share banners with businesses of the same industry. You make want to promote your forum on websites that would be similar to your topic. |
| Look at the link for "forum hosts" wanted at the very top right corner of this site. It looks like the concept is similiar to that of a "moderator" but without those "moderation" responsiblities. Sounds like a great way to promote a website. It looks like they are seeking forum hosts on a whole range of topics. |
#3Downtown Tijuana, South | Well of course the best way is through word of mouth. Send an e-mail out to all your buddies on msn, yahoo, aim and in your e-mail address book. Tell them about your new forum and invite them to come and take a look. If they join ask them to recommend other friends and offer them something in return. For instance you could offer them points that they can use in a contest you run every week or month on your forum. The more points the more entries. |
| Word of mouth, adding to your sig line in other forums, sending emails out to your friends. If you have myspace post a bulletin to all your friends announcing your new forum. |
