When is it time to try something different?

Thank author of this post/commentOkay I'm reading in here about a lot of different problems that people are running into in setting up their sites. They have problems with spammers, they have problems getting the right graphics they just seem to have an abundance of problems.

When do you decide that the problems are not worth the effort and that the revenue is just not happening as you expected it would.

How much is too much to put into a site when you are getting no revenue for it. When do you finally say "I quit" and go onto another venture.

Approximately, how much should it cost to get a good site up and running and what kind of revenue should you expect in return for your efforts?

Thank author of this post/commentWhat is the site? Are you selling a single product or service? Are you selling 15, 000 products that you carry in your brick and mortar store? Do you need simple product photos or 3D images?

Thank author of this post/commentThe biggest factor for me is when I see that it is a losing battle. If at any time I am spending well over my revenue I would re evualate my business plan and try something else. If that failed then it would be time to close.

Thank author of this post/commentBusiness owners must know that you usually don't turn a profit for like the first 5 years. That is why you take out a business loan to get you started unless you have a financial backer. You need to know that any internet site takes time regardless of your line of business!

Thank author of this post/commentVery true! It takes a while to make a profit and it is within those first few years that many new businesses fail. If you get a loan think ahead of having enough money to cover your expenses as well as your personal finances.

Thank author of this post/commentI have learned the hard way internet sites are no different. It take time, effort, and money to get it where you want to be. Advertising is only a part of it. With an online business networking is also a key factor. The more you can get the word out about yourself the better you off you will be. Plus networking with other owners allows you to help each other out.
